SkydiveDZ Return & Refund Policy

SkydiveDZ is a marketplace connecting buyers and sellers of skydiving equipment. Because most items listed on SkydiveDZ are used gear sold by individual sellers, our return and refund process is designed to protect both parties while maintaining transparency and trust within the skydiving community.

1. Marketplace Role

SkydiveDZ acts as a facilitator and escrow platform connecting buyers and sellers.

SkydiveDZ:

  • Does not own most items listed on the platform
  • Does not physically inspect most gear
  • Facilitates transactions between buyers and sellers

Buyer funds may be temporarily held through a secure payment process until the transaction is confirmed.

Funds are released to the seller once the buyer confirms the item matches the listing or when the inspection period expires.

2. Buyer Inspection Period

Buyers have 7 days after delivery to inspect the item.

During this period the buyer may:

  • Accept the item
  • Request a return due to misrepresentation
  • Open a dispute

If no action is taken within 7 days, the order will automatically be marked as accepted, and funds will be released to the seller.

3. Buyer Responsibilities During Inspection

During the inspection period, buyers must not alter, modify, or use the gear.

This includes but is not limited to:

  • Jumping the equipment
  • Installing components
  • Repacking or modifying the system
  • Adjusting or altering the gear in any way

The gear must remain in the same condition as received during the inspection period.

⚠️ If the gear is used, jumped, or modified before the transaction is finalized, the sale will be considered accepted and final, and the buyer forfeits eligibility for a return or dispute.

4. Optional Rigger Inspection

Buyers may choose to have the equipment inspected by a certified skydiving rigger during the 7-day inspection period.

Any inspection, evaluation, or service performed by a rigger is entirely at the buyer's discretion and expense.

SkydiveDZ does not provide rigging services and is not responsible for the outcome of any third-party inspection.

5. Buyer Compatibility Responsibility

Buyers are responsible for verifying that any equipment purchased is compatible with their container system, canopy size, experience level, and certification requirements.

SkydiveDZ does not guarantee compatibility between gear components or suitability for any individual jumper.

Buyers are encouraged to consult a certified rigger or qualified professional prior to purchasing equipment if they are unsure about compatibility.

6. Eligible Reasons for Returns

Returns may be approved if the item:

  • Is significantly different from the listing description
  • Has undisclosed damage or defects
  • Is not the item purchased
  • Has incorrect size or model listed
  • Is non-functional when described as functional

Buyers may be asked to provide photos or documentation to support the claim.

7. Non-Returnable Situations

Returns will not be approved for:

  • Buyer's change of mind
  • Improper sizing assumptions
  • Normal wear consistent with the listing
  • Cosmetic issues clearly visible in listing photos

Skydiving equipment is specialized gear, and buyers are responsible for verifying compatibility before purchasing.

8. Dispute Resolution

If a buyer believes an item was misrepresented:

  • The buyer must open a dispute within 7 days of delivery
  • Evidence such as photos or documentation may be requested
  • SkydiveDZ will review the claim and communicate with both parties

Possible outcomes may include:

  • Return approval
  • Partial refund
  • Full refund
  • Claim denial

SkydiveDZ reserves the right to make the final determination.

9. Return Shipping

If a return is approved:

  • The buyer must ship the item back within 3 days
  • The item must be returned in the same condition received
  • Tracking must be provided

Shipping responsibility:

  • Seller pays return shipping if the item was misrepresented
  • Buyer pays return shipping in other approved situations

10. Refund Processing

  • Refunds are issued after the seller receives the returned item
  • Refund processing may take 3–7 business days, depending on the payment provider
  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method

11. Safety Disclaimer

Skydiving equipment carries inherent risks.

Buyers are responsible for:

  • Inspecting equipment before use
  • Consulting qualified riggers when necessary
  • Verifying compatibility with their system

SkydiveDZ does not guarantee the airworthiness or safety of any listed equipment.

12. Seller Responsibilities

Sellers must:

  • Provide accurate descriptions
  • Disclose known defects
  • Upload clear photos
  • Ship items as described

Failure to comply may result in:

  • Buyer refunds
  • Account suspension
  • Removal from the marketplace

13. Fraud Prevention

SkydiveDZ reserves the right to:

  • Hold payments for investigation
  • Cancel suspicious transactions
  • Suspend accounts involved in fraudulent activity

These measures help protect the SkydiveDZ community and marketplace integrity.
